1. Check Your Samsung TV Model Year
-
2018 or newer (Tizen 4.0+) → Can install apps directly from the App Store.
-
2015–2017 models → Still support the App Store, but some IPTV apps may no longer be available.
-
Older than 2015 (Orsay OS) → Very limited support; you’ll likely need an external device.
To find your model year:
Menu → Support → Contact Samsung → Model Code → Check the year from Samsung’s website.
2. Install an IPTV App (If Available)
Samsung has removed many popular IPTV apps (like Smart IPTV) from its store in some regions. If your region still lists an IPTV app:
-
Press Home on your remote.
-
Go to Apps (Samsung App Store).
-
Search for:
-
Smart IPTV (SIPTV)
-
SS IPTV
-
OTT Player
-
-
Select the app → Install.
-
Launch the app → You’ll usually see a MAC address on-screen.
-
Go to the app developer’s website on your phone/PC → Upload your M3U playlist or portal URL → Save.
-
Restart the app → Your IPTV channels should load.
3. If No IPTV Apps Are Listed
Many Samsung TVs now block direct IPTV apps. You have three main workarounds:
Option A: Use an External Streaming Device
-
Plug in a Fire TV Stick, Android TV box, Chromecast with Google TV, or Roku.
-
Install IPTV apps (e.g., TiviMate, IPTV Smarters, GSE Smart IPTV) directly from those app stores.
-
This is the easiest and most reliable method.
Option B: Use Screen Mirroring / Casting
-
Install an IPTV app on your phone or tablet.
-
Use Smart View (Samsung) or AirPlay (iPhone) to mirror your screen to the TV.
-
This is less convenient but works without modifying the TV.
Option C: Use a USB Install (Only For Some Older Models)
-
For older Samsung TVs that still allow sideloading:
-
Download the IPTV app’s Tizen widget package onto a USB drive.
-
Insert USB → TV will prompt to install the widget.
-
This method only works if the app developer provides a widget package.
-
4. Alternative: Use Samsung’s Built-in Web Browser
If no app is available and you don’t want extra hardware:
-
Open the Internet Browser on the TV.
-
Go to an IPTV provider’s web player (if they offer one).
-
This only works for browser-friendly IPTV services.
